A new class offering from Le Studio features beautiful photographs of the natural world. Nature art has inspired artists from the very first ancient cave painters to current day contemporary designers. The master painters had to paint from life; at the mercy of the elements and frequent light changes. The Impressionists were famed for working en plein air (an art form still practiced today). Modern photography has transformed the traditional methods of nature painting and portraiture into a technologically integrated painting method. This does not take away the need for natural inspiration. I take many of my own reference photos while out among the natural elements. Everywhere I go I keep an eye out for painting references.
Photography is a convenient way to capture the lighting and detail of your subject in perfect clarity at the exact moment you find inspiration. It allows you to refer back to the composition over and over again during the painting process. Le studio now offers in-depth classes which focus on recreating the beauty of nature photographs. Some are Elizabeth's own reference photos taken during her travels, other animal photos are provided courtesy of photographer Mac Walter: www.macwalter.com.
There are nature photo inspired classes already posted in Le Studio's calendar. Take advantage of these wonderful classes which will teach you how to paint what you see. Class focuses are: Composition, color mixing and blending, shading and highlighting techniques. No drawing or experience is required. Come to class with an open mind and an active imagination. I look forward to painting with you!
May you always find inspiration in the natural world around you.
-Elizabeth
